Chestnut stallion champion in Holstein

The Chestnut Casall-son Casaltino was proclaimed Champion Stallion at this year’s stallion licensing in the Holsteiner Verband. 23 stallions were licensed and six were chosen for the champion ring

This year’s Champion Stallion Casaltino by Casall Ask/Carthago was bred and showed by Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld. Shortly after the licensing the stallion was sold on the auction to a Polish buyer for Euro 200,000. Runner up was 35 Cruscant by Conner/Cristo bred and showed by Manfred Johannsen, Tornesch.

– This year we have seen a crop of stallions with a broad top. We have seen many stallions of a very modern type and with good basic gaits, said Dr. Thomas Nissen from the licensing committee. 


Six stallions were selected for the Premium Ring, and all six stallions were later on sold at the auction. Five of the premium stallions was jumper stallions, and one – Amber by Ampere/Linarao – was a dressage stallion.

No 35 Cruscant by Conner/Cristo
No 64 Quick Time by Quick Fire/Casall
No 52 Lint by Limbus/Carthago.
No 20 Cassoulet by Casall Ask/Corrado I.
No 1 Amber by Ampere/Linaro.

Holsteiner Breeder of the year

Wilfried Thomann from Drelsdorf was proclaimed Holsteiner Breeder of the Year. Wilfried Thomann is the breeder of holsteiner stallion Casall Ask, which ridden by Rolf Göran Bengtsson helped secure Swedish Team Bronze at the European Championships in Herning, Denmark, in August.
