New 5-year-old World Champion: Sa Coeur

The winner of the qualifyer for 5-year-olds claimed the world champion title in the finals this afternoon

The bay Oldenburg gelding Sa Coeur by Sir Donnerhall x Don Davidoff (bred by Gestüt Lewitz, Germany, and owned by Ulrich Kasselmann, Germany) was ridden by German Eva Möller to a convincing victory with a score of 9.38. "A horse to die for" said commentator Mariette Sanders van Gansewinkel. Sa Coeur earned the score of 10 for his perfect walk and scored 9.6 for his trot, 8.9 for his canter, 8.8 for submissiveness and 9.6 for general impression.

 

The silver medal went to the Westfalian stallion Revolverheld, a full brother of the well-known Grand Prix stallion Rock Forever, by Rocket Star x Landstreicher. Revolverheld, bred by Maria and Heinz Könemann and owned by BG Revolverheld, was ridden by Ann-Kristin Wienkamp to a score of 8.98. The KWPN stallion Duval's Capri Sonne Jr. by Rhodiom x San Remo, bred by Steijn & Van der Vliet and owned by JC van der Endt, took bronze under the saddle Dinja van Liere and scored 8.94.
 
WBFSH President Jan Pederson took the opportunity to comment on the good judging with a focus on the correct scale of eduation. Judge Maria Colliander praised the quality of the horses as well as the riders in the finals for six-year-olds. At the press meeting she stated that the quality of the horses went from good to excellent.
