133 horses in the finals

After the second day of qualifications at the FEI/WBFSH World Young Horse Championships 134 youngsters have qualified for the finals on Sunday; 54 five-year-olds, 39 six-year-olds and 40 seven-year-olds made the cut

Sunday is the big day of the final at the FEI/WBFSH World Young Horse Championships at Zangersheide in Lanaken, Belgium. 54 five-year-olds, 39 six-year-olds and 40 seven-year-olds made the cut for the finals on Sunday, and the remaining of the competing horses will be competing in the consolation finals on tomorrow Saturday.

 

54 combinations to final for 5-year-old horses

Friday 103 combinations jumped a clear round in the class for 5-year old horses. On Thursday already 91 combinations noted a clear round. In total 54 double clears were noted. They will be jumping in the Finals for 5-year-old horses on Friday.

 


French victory in the 6-year-old horses

Yesterday it was France who claimed victory in the second qualification for 6-year-old horses. The Frenchman Alexis Bouillot brought his home-bred Canabis d'Albain (Baloubet de Rouet) to the finish in 62.72 seconds in this table A against the clock. For the Irishman Michael Pender there was a second place. He stopped the clock in 62.82 seconds with HHS Javas Gucci (Luidam - Breeder: Judy Murphy). Also the third place remained in Ireland. Kenneth Graham and Pacino Amiro (Pacino - Breeder: Simon Scott) finished their course in 63.05 seconds. The Swedish Sofia Westborg occupied the fourth place in 63.59 seconds with Concordia Z (Chiquitano Z - Breeder: Wim Aegten). She stayed ahead of George Whitaker and Shooting Star (Indoctro - Breeder: J&C Whitaker), who finished in fifth place in 64.33 seconds.

In total 39 combinations qualified for the Finals on Sunday.

 


Zangersheide on top in the 7-year-old horses

Zangersheide was on top in the second qualification for 7-year-old horses yesterday. No less than 3 Zangersheide horses were present in the top five. The victory in this class against the clock went to the German Julia Gorski with Catch Me Z (Breeder: Nathalie Corrin). She finished in 61.20 seconds with the Chippendale Z son. Second place went to the Brazilian Cassio Rivetti. He stopped the clock in 61.50 seconds with Livius P (Echo van ’t Spieveld - Breeder: L. Van den Brande). The Belgian Nico Baerts claimed the third place. With Mielano van Meyershof Z, a son of Mylord Carthago (Breeder: Firmin Baerts), he stopped the time in 61.77 seconds. The fourth place went again to Germany: Toni Hasmann and Pepita Con Spita (Con Spirit 7 - Breeder: Christiane Humburg) finished in 62.07 seconds. Solid Gold Z (Stakkato Gold - Breeder: A. Sprehe) and Christian Ahlmann closed the top five. They finished in 62.10 seconds.

In total 40 combinations qualified for the finals on Sunday, were all combinations will start with 0 penalty points.
