Join the Data Exchange and improve the rankings

The hub developed and promoted by the WBFSH is a secure tool to facilitate the exchanges of data between central studbooks and national federation databases though XML files which can be easily exploited.

WBFSH invites all members to participate in the project and connect their database to the hub. Thanks to the involvement of each partner, we can progress and improve the horse data in not just our database, but also in the FEI database, consequently improving the rankings.

Today when you have to register a foreign horse as imported for competition, breeding or as imported semen in your database, you have to type
data from the passport. It takes a lot of time; some databases register more than 10,000 imported horses a year. When typing, there is always a risk to make mistakes on the horse name, date of birth, colour, pedigree etc.

The studbook controls the activity and access

The hub provides a restricted list of available databases according to their UELN code. Every partner in this project will be able to manage access authorizations to its database. Each partner has a history of connections to its database to control activity.

By now horse data and pedigree are available. In future, more web services could be added for more data shared. For further details about web services, please contact UELN manager and webmaster at contact@ueln.net

How to connect

At present, the access is restricted to the WBFSH's members for free. To exchange data, your database has to be compatible with the web service
technologies. To participate in data exchanges, the database manager has to sign the ‘data exchange chart’, in order to respect the code of ethics of the project.

This chart is sent when a partner asks for a login/password and has to be returned signed to the UELN manager and webmaster at contact@ueln.net to get an access.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at contact@ueln.net
