Universal Equine Life Number
|
Don Schufro - like other stallions selected to a variety of horse breeding societies - could be one of those with many different registration numbers, unless his UELN is used
The UELN (Universal Equine Life Number) is a project of a common language between all the horse registering organisations. They all have their own independent system of identification for their horses, which makes the exchange of data quite difficult. The aim is to ensure that each horse can be identified with one UELN all over the world. So when, for example, an organisation needs information about a stallion registered in another country, the UELN could be a number understandable by any organisation. The website http://www.ueln.net is intended for all the official organisations concerned by horse registration, breeding and use. It will present the result of international meetings between the most important international organisations which work to improve the communication between horse registers.
The website contains:
-the history and description of the UELN system (Universal Equine Life Number)
-the international organisations related to this project
-the UELN database with many more than 300 organisations and associations registered (UELN code, address, list of breeds registered)
-the presentation of a solution for data exchanges between databases using the internet.

The main international horse organisations promote a project for a common language between all organizations registering horses:
the UELN number- creation of an unique number of identification for each horse
WBFSH and FEI promote now a project to exchange horses data between databases
You will find all information about these two projects on www.ueln.net
Our aims…
* To maintain horse identity in every database in the world
* To be able to find information about a horse in several databases
* To improve the information
- exchanges between organisations
- managing breeding and horse
- registration
* Not to have to update the database manually, in order to avoid mistakes and waste of time
Possible search by :

* The pedigree until three generations
In the future, it will be possible:
* To exchange performances
* To exchange offspring
